School Governance
School governance occurs through six interconnected decision making bodies: the Board of Trustees, the Community Council, Pedagogical Council, Faculty, Care Group and Parent Council.
Board of Trustees mandate ensures the financial health and stability, legal compliance, physical plant integrity and implementation of long-term development plans.
Community Council manages the day to day operations of the school and works to resolve emerging issues brought forth by faculty and parents. This council also oversees implementation of board goals, deals with employment issues and oversees administrative work.
Pedagogical Council deepens the collective understanding of the method and practice of Waldorf teaching among faculty. This council also attends to the general well being of the faculty and the monitoring of academic standards.
Faculty provides an education that awakens the inner being of the child, develops a sense of beauty, and the ability to meet life’s practical challenges. Weekly faculty meetings provides a form for community building, artistic expression, pedagogical study and professional growth.
Care Group serves teachers in their task of identifying and serving the needs of individual students.
Parent Council supports the education of the student body and provides a voice for the parent body. It’s goals are to foster a sense of community in our school, participate in school activities and model values held in Waldorf education.
