Orchid Migñon Fowler
Moonflower Lead PreSchool Teacher
Orchid Migñon Fowler grew up in the Bay Area, California. Her family traveled to the Sierra Nevada’s and Lake Tahoe every year – camping in the Summer and skiing in the Winter. This is where she grew her love of the outdoors and nature’s beauty.
In 2008 she worked as an After School Director at a Waldorf Charter School in the NW and was introduced to the philosophy behind Steiner Education. She began her studies at the Micha-el Institute for Waldorf Teacher Training in 2010. Later in 2012 she studied Anthroposophy and Eurythmy on a Biodynamic Agriculture farm in Northern California.
After losing her father to cancer in 2014, she traveled to Nepal to the Himalayan Mountains to renew herself. She climbed the 13,550 ft to the Annapurna base camp at the foot of Mt. Machapuchhre.
While completing her Waldorf Teacher Training in 2016, she continued working as a lead Early Childhood Educator at a Waldorf-inspired Outdoor Kindergarten in Portland, OR. This is where she fell in love with the forest kindergarten model and knew that working with young children and instilling in them a love of nature and the natural arts was how her heart came alive.
For the past 15 years Orchid has worked as an Early Childhood Educator in various capacities including Montessori Education, Mixed-age wilderness enrichment programs, Outdoor Forest kindergartens, and Waldorf Early Childhood Education.
She met her husband in 2017 and moved to Washington State. They had a son together in 2019 and are thrilled to be a part of the WSRF community.
