The dedicated faculty of the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork is deeply engaged in co-creating a robust Waldorf curriculum that addresses the needs of today’s children in the light of shared understanding of anthroposophy. About Our School

Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork is a full-member AWSNA school located on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains near Aspen, Colorado. We are celebrating our twenty-sixth year with a supportive parent body and a dynamic faculty. Our teachers enjoy a balanced workload, with a recently increased salary. Our school is set in the beautiful Roaring Fork valley, along the wild and scenic Roaring Fork River, where our community enjoys a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities year-round.

Our school has Parent Child programs, a Toddler Program, two preschools, two kindergartens and grades one through eight with a total student body of approximately 185 students. We have an on-site mentor to support teachers. Our specialty programs include Eurythmy, handwork, movement, music, woodwork and Spanish.

Our campus is all straw bale construction – designed and based upon Steiner’s architectural indications.  Thus, the buildings them themselves provide a beautiful space in which our faculty and children may thrive. Our faculty works cooperatively and collaboratively within the greater community of the Roaring Fork valley.  Carbondale has a vibrant arts community, it has a small town feel, while benefiting from the multi-faceted cultural and recreational opportunities of Aspen.
