Thank you for your interest in our school!
Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork is an independent, tuition-based school. Independent means we are able to bring the full depth and breadth of Waldorf Education to our students without compromising it to meet state standardized testing regulations. It also means we are 100% dependent on our community for our financial security. We view this education as an investment in our collective future – and the opportunity for parents and donors to align money with values. Investing in WSRF is an opportunity to realize positive change in the world – one Waldorf student at a time.
An independent school education can require a significant financial investment, but at WSRF, we do our very best to make the school accessible through our Individualized Tuition Adjustment Process (I-TAP) program. In years past, over 80% of I-TAP applicants received needs-based tuition assistance, which allowed us to offer tuition assistance to approximately 1 out of 5 of our enrolled student body. Through I-TAP we work hand in hand with families to understand their unique financial picture. Our measure of success is when a family and the school come together in service of the child, working together to deliver the dynamic, well-rounded learning that is the hallmark of Waldorf education at a financial cost that is in balance for each individual family.
2024-2025 Tuition
WSRF tuition is all-inclusive. All-inclusive means there are no additional fees (materials, facilities, music) and includes all costs for currently offered field trips, class trip week fees, and outdoor ed fees. The only additional costs are for opt-in programs which include, but are not limited to: bus transportation to/from school, after school program attendance, any supplemental student support services (ie. tutoring) and our Pizza Friday fundraiser.

Individualized Tuition Adjustment Process (I-TAP)
2025 Returning Family Deadline is February 15th, 2025
The Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork is a diverse community of individuals united by the desire to provide the best possible Waldorf education for our children.
We are committed to making WSRF accessible to an ever-wider array of families so that our student body diversity may reflect the diversity in our greater community. In the financial realm, this is accomplished through the Individualized Tuition Adjustment Process (I-TAP), which is a needs-based tuition assistance program. See below for more details.
No two families are identical. WSRF respectfully acknowledges each family's unique situation, and works with families to determine tuition for their child. I-TAP takes into consideration the many aspects of a family’s financial picture, such as: earned income, passive income, assets, debts, family size, sibling enrollment at WSRF, child or elderly care, children attending higher education, home equity, and other individual extenuating circumstances as they relate to a family’s income and expenses.
As WSRF commits to the family to provide the full breadth of Waldorf education, we in turn ask families to commit fully to the school. WSRF does not have a scholarship fund or an endowment for funds specific to supporting our tuition assistance awards. Every dollar we award in need-based tuition assistance is a dollar WSRF has to make up for through other revenue streams and fundraising efforts.
WSRF recognizes that the primary responsibility for financing a student’s independent school education rests with his or her family. I-TAP is granted on the basis of need. We ask that you highly prioritize your child’s education in your life and financial decisions. WSRF expects that families assume as much financial responsibility as possible, committing to their child’s educational expenses to the greatest extent they are able, given their economic situation. The healthiest of financial relationships between WSRF and your family is made possible with a shared commitment and understanding of the value, cost and complexities in delivering Waldorf Education in its most dynamic form.

I-TAP Process:
Step 1. School re-enrollment or new application submitted.
Step 2. Submit application via FACTS below or here (takes approx 2 weeks to process)
Step 3. For new I-TAP applications, an in-person meeting between parent(s) & I-TAP committee is set and held to build a more in-depth picture of unique family circumstances. I-TAP committee then meets to discuss families need and determines an award.
Step 3. For returning families, an updated Individualized Tuition Agreement is issued based on annual application and in-person meeting held on as-needed basis
Step 4. Individualized Tuition Agreement is sent to family
Step 5. Individualized Tuition Agreement signed by family or request for additional conversation made to WSRF by family.

I-TAP Guidelines
Returning WSRF students must be in good financial standing at time of I-TAP application
Funds are limited and applications received after the deadline will only be considered if funds are available
Information related to I-TAP is kept in strict confidence
Students receiving adjustment are not held to different academic or behavioral standards
Award decisions are made by the I-TAP committee based on the recommendations from FACTS and family circumstances provided in writing or during in person meeting
WSRF does not offer I-TAP to cover the cost of any opt in program fees
It is not possible for WSRF to become involved in any financial arrangements between parents. Therefore, for separated or divorced parents who share financial responsibility, receipt of financial aid applications and signed Tuition Agreements from both parents will be required in order for children to be enrolled and allowed to attend school
Requests for I-TAP are reviewed only after the enrollment agreement and enrollment or application fee have been received. Application fees and enrollment fees are non-refundable
If the determined I-TAP award is insufficient to meet a family’s anticipated need, an appeal may be submitted to the I-TAP committee, or the student enrollment agreement may be withdrawn
WSRF thrives with parent volunteer involvement, non-monetary contributions will not be considered in lieu of tuition
WSRF assumes that parents with children in school full time have the capacity to be an earner and contribute to costs of tuition. If there are circumstances that do not allow parents to work, please provide this information in the write-up portion of your application
I-TAP awards are gifts, not loans; they range greatly in amount but are never full tuition awards
Toddler students are limited in the amount of tuition assistance awarded due to the low teacher to student ratio and high cost of this program
