Rachel Cohen

Alpenglow Afterschool Lead Teacher

Rachel earned her B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation and Outdoor Adventure Leadership from Ithaca College and is currently working towards her Master’s in Waldorf Education from Antioch University as well as studying Therapeutic Speech and Drama through Kairos Institute recognized by the Goetheanum Anthroposophic Medicine Section for the Performing Arts.  Her deep reverence for anthroposophy carries her intent to gift this knowledge to communities through the education of children. Rachel has also received a Permaculture Design Certificate and a Professional Ski Instructor of American Adaptive Certification in Visual Impairment and Cognitive Development.  Her passions have orchestrated a professional background colored by work with individuals with various well-being needs in therapeutic recreation settings and alternative education programs focused on art, movement, nutrition and mental health. The highlight experiences being East Bay Waldorf School, Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, Keystone Science School, Delta County Library District, Dr. Bronner’s, and Ithaca Youth Bureau.  Rachel is a performance ‘artivist’ who expresses herself through humanitarian interactive art, character work, and poetry.  Rachel is a three time published poet.
